For our forth event in the 2024-25 series, we are thrilled to welcome the accomplished author Roz Kohen on Monday, November 18. Born and raised in İstanbul, Türkiye, Roz Kohen attended the Jewish Lycée B’nai B’rith in the Galata region and graduated from the American College for Girls in İstanbul. She has a graduate degree in Library Science. Kohen has published six books, including Jewish Constantinople, Letter to My Father about Our Cuban Cousins, and Yesterday and Today Kuzguncuk. She retired recently after working as manager of one of St. Louis County Library branches in St. Louis, Missouri.
Roz Kohen will be interviewed by Rachel Amado Bortnick, founder of the Ladinokomunita listserve and co-director of the ALL. We hope you will be able to join us for an exploration of Istanbul, memory, and Ladino through the wonderful writings of Roz Kohen.
