There is no such place as Ladinoland, so why not create spaces where Ladino can flourish as a living language? That’s the idea behind the ALL Ladino Lounge, which has met online weekly since the organization launced in 2024. Run by the three ALL co-directors, Ladino Lounge is a lively hour of virtual conversation with friends not just in the U.S., but around the world. The wide-ranging sessions cover seasonal holidays, refranes (expressions), Ladino etymology, Sephardic food and culture, and much more. Beginners in the language are especially welcome, and the first part of each session is reserved for any demandas (questions) that people may have. So bring your kave o chai (coffee or tea) and get ready for a high-energy, intergenerational chat in the Lounge!
