Enkontros de Alhad is a weekly Ladino interview program hosted by the Centro Cultural Sefarad in Buenos Aires and broadcast around the world. The format features balabayas (hosts) and musafires (guests) speaking about assorted topics in Sephardic culture and the Jewish community. The series began in August 2020 as a way for Ladino speakers to connect virtually during the pandemic, and it continues to be a vibrant gathering space today. The American Ladino League is proud to be an official cosponsor of the Enkontros de Alhad, with ALL staff serving as balabayas for several programs per year.
For anyone interested in improving their listening comprehension in Ladino, the Enkontros programs provide hours of practice! Click here to access the full YouTube playlist of every Enkontro from 2020 through today. These three recordings are a great place to get started:
